Research fellowships provide an opportunity for teachers to do laboratory science, then to share the enthusiasm, career information, and hands-on investigations they generate with their own students. Fellows join research groups studying a range of subjects, including cell biology, plant disease, genomics, and field ecology.
Science Outreach matches teachers with faculty mentors in Arts and Sciences, the School of Medicine, or the School of Engineering, based on interest and availability. Fellowships generally last from six to eight weeks, pay varied stipends, and include small budgets for classroom transfer projects. Most last one summer, but some fellowships extend over several summers.
