Your K-8 students can use models to discover how planetary motion affects the moon, tides, days, and seasons. These classroom investigations make MAP-aligned science concepts real -- and make science your strongest subject.

Laboratory experiences, discussion and lectures designed to prepare teachers to implement or strengthen hands-on science teaching in grades K-8. Inquiry activities will illustrate:

  • Planetary motion
  • Tides
  • Lunar phases
  • Constellations
  • Comets
  • Terrestrial planets
  • Gas giants
  • Plate tectonics
  • Volcanoes
  • Earthquakes

Activities will be selected in congruence with the National Science Education Standards and Missouri Show-Me Standards.

Edu 6012 offers three graduate credits in education to practicing classroom teachers. Registered teachers/graduate students are eligible to borrow classroom sets of materials for use with their students.
